Intro and experience

I’m Steve Matthews, a Multidisciplinary Designer based in the south of England.
I specialise in graphic / digital design and illustration with experience of designing and delivering projects across a broad range of disciplines both in-house and agency-side including Publishing, Marketing, Advertising, Recruitment, Learning and Development and Employee Comms.
Right now I work for Specsavers, overseeing design requirements and delivery of projects across a Centre of Expertise team encompassing Internal Comms, L&D, Resourcing and Employer Brand. Some of my responsibilities include:
Working with relevant stakeholders to manage resource and expectations, maintain a high level of service and an awareness and delivery of best practice.

Designing and maintaining a system of assets that work across all teams, that’s consistent, on-brand and is intuitive to use for the audience.

Designing, building and maintaining an internal online learning platform alongside a team of L&D experts. Understanding user journeys, audience needs and the digital delivery and marketing of content.

Logos, illustrations, brochures, reports, manuals, infographics, diagrams, event stands, adverts, large format graphics, websites, app UI, email & landing page templates and audits, social media assets, video storyboards, animations, presentations, advent calendars, training modules and a popup book.
Software I’ve used

Highly proficient in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, with a working knowledge of After Effects and Premier Pro, the Microsoft Office Suite and Keynote, Basecamp, Asana, Trello and Invision. Have dabbled with Sketch, Adobe XD, Rise 360, SharePoint, Audition and Sketchup.
